GAME DAY RECAP: September 21, 2025

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (7) vs Edge School (3) U15

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg’s weekend tear didn’t stop its momentum come the fourth game in four days. Having bested Edge School 5-2 on Friday, the confidence of RHA Winnipeg was palpable come Sunday morning. A three-goal lead through twenty minutes of play was evidence of their continued dominance, coasting to victory from there. Brock Labelle (1G, 2A) and Bentley Church (2G) led the way for RHA Winnipeg as they have been all weekend; Labelle finished with four goals and nine points, and Brantley Church finished with seven goals over the four-game weekend.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (8) U15

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy fought as hard as they could have Saturday night in an overtime defeat at the hands of Delta Hockey Academy White, and were faced Saturday morning with another tough assignment. Their return to Delta faced them with the DHA Black squad, one determined to keep the offensive train going after a 6-1 victory on Saturday. One of the key contributors for DHAB was Bentley Gillis, who scored two goals and three points on Saturday. He popped up huge again Sunday morning, scoring three second-period goals to bring his season total to six in just three games. His hat-trick helped his team to a one-goal lead through two periods, but unfortunately for PCHA, they couldn’t stay in the game for much of the third period. DHAB scored four in the third period to stamp an exclamation point on their victory, and better yet for the victors, youngster Stefano Trentalance scored a third-period hat-trick to cap off a four-point night for the rookie.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (2) U17

The third of three consecutive games this weekend between the Northern Alberta Xtreme and RHA Winnipeg was poised to settle the score of a three-game series tied at one win apiece. NAX won big on Friday, filling the net at will in an 8-2 victory, but couldn’t produce anything offensively significant in game two. Brendan Wells made 41 saves on 42 shots in a 4-1 RHA Winnipeg victory. The Sunday afternoon clash between these two teams was a close game to end this series, one that saw an amicable, but ultimately unsuccessful, RHA Winnipeg fight. Matthew Brown and Vaughn Livadney (1G, 1A) had their goals for NAX countered by Grayson Speirs and Aiden Moon for RHAW, but ultimately, it was a power-play goal late that decided things. Kaiden Chartrand’s first goal of the season gave NAX a late 3-2 lead, one they’d protect until the end, for the victory.

Ulysse Academie (0) vs Stanstead College (7) East U18 Prep

The superiority of the Stanstead College side was obvious from the first twenty minutes; even though Stanstead led Ulysse just 1-0 through one, they outshot their opponents by an 18-4 margin. Brody Molloy (1G, 2A) scored the only goal of the first period, and Ulysse managed to stay in the game through more than three quarters of the second. However, a two and a half minute stretch at the end of the second period put the game well out of the reach of Ulysses, with Stanstead scoring three times to take a four-goal lead into the third. Aaron Chipp scored twice, and Dimitri Pavlov (1G, 1A) scored his second in as many games in what ended up being a 7-0 victory for Stanstead College.

North Shore Warriors (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (6) U15 Prep

Okanagan Hockey Academy sat on the sidelines and observed the rest of the U15 Prep division get underway, notably including their opponents, who came into Sunday’s matchup having played two games in the previous two days. They lost back-to-back games against RHA Kelowna in those two games while OHA hadn’t yet started their season. OHA came out like a team rearing to go, and didn’t take their foot off the gas until the game ceased to be a contest. Cooper De Wal led the way with a pair of goals to help OHA build a 5-0 lead just past the seven-minute mark of the second period. North Shore fought to pull the game back to a more respectable appearance, but OHA won 6-2 on the back of four power-play goals.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy vs Delta Hockey Academy U17

Delta Hockey Academy had plenty of time to get their feet underneath them come their weekend back-to-back against Pacific Coast Hockey Academy, having won twice last weekend, and making it three straight victories with a 4-2 win over PCHA on Saturday night. The second game between these two teams reprised a similar dynamic. Delta controlled the bulk of play, even sending 23 shots on goal PCHA’s way in the first period alone. They led 2-0 with under five minutes left to play in the second period, but eventually, the consistent fight from PCHA paid off. A pair of goals by Trent Porter and Nixon Szadkowski pulled them back to tied through two periods, but Delta snatched their lead back early. Graeme Burke scored early to give Delta the edge, before a Ryder Miller (1G, 1A) power-play goal gave Delta a 4-2 lead that wouldn’t be further encroached upon. Delta’s victory was the second in as many days over PCHA by the same scoreline, and now their fourth straight victory to start the season.

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (10) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U15

CDA outshot North Shore 55-28 en route to a 10-2 win Sunday afternoon. TJ Podollan (3G, 3A) paced the Coeur d’Alene offence with six points while Jagger Clark (2G, 3A) and Reed Witham (3G, 2A) each added five of their own. Blake Legler (2G) scored the other two CDA goals while Harrison Dalton (26/28) made 26 saves for the win. Talen Lindsay and Sawyer Shepard scored for North Shore in the loss.

STAR Hockey Academy (3) vs BWC Academy (6) U17

STAR Hockey Academy’s forays North have been entirely unsuccessful in the early stages of their season. A pair of hard-fought contests ended in losses in Delta last weekend, and their first of back-to-back games this weekend against Burnaby Winter Club Academy ended likewise last night. Easton Coupland picked up four assists in BWC’s 6-2 victory yesterday, and immediately went back to work in the first period, first assisting Ben Bury’s (1G, 2A) opening goal, before himself breaking a 1-1 tie later in the first period. Despite STAR producing a similar number of first-period chances, BWC’s sharpshooters managed to extend their lead before the break, with Eric Prexler scoring his first of two goals in the game to help BWC to a 4-1 lead through one and eventually a 5-1 lead through two periods of play. Ethan Watson (45/48) faced down 20 STAR shots in the third period of play, and while he was beaten twice, Ryker Carson scored to extend BWC’s lead, contributing to a 6-3 BWC victory.

Balmoral Hall School (0) vs OHA Edmonton Female (3) U18 Prep

One of Balmoral Hall School and OHA Edmonton’s U18 Prep Female squads was going to end the day having picked up their first loss of the season, with OHAE having won twice and Balmoral winning their season opener yesterday over NAX. In the two previous games, OHA Edmonton’s quality hockey has largely been shown by their defensive record. In two games against Edge School, Harlee Houle made 17 saves on 18 shots in the first game, as well as all 16 shots in the second. That defensive record was not just a reflection on the shot and chance suppression of OHAE, but on the manner by which they dominated puck possession of each game. Balmoral survived through one, but two second-period goals in a mere 52 seconds from Riley Cooper and Ashtyn May propelled OHAE to a two-goal lead. They’d only add a Svana Sveinbjornson goal later in the middle frame to secure victory, with Harlee Houle earning her second consecutive shutout thanks to her 21 saves. OHA Edmonton’s three straight wins over the weekend saw them outshoot their opponents by a 136-55 margin, outscoring their two opponents over three games 11-1.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (1) vs Edge School (4) Female U18 Prep

Edge fired a whopping 19 shots at Ayla Whitney (56/60) in the first period but were unable to break through as the first period ended tied 0-0. Abigail Lee (1G, 1A) would finally find the back of the net for Edge as she scored a power play marker, her first of the season, 6:16 into the second period. Edge would continue the onslaught as Mika Higgins and Jana Mitenko scored 1:07 apart late in the second to increase the lead to 3-0. However, despite mustering just seven shots in the frame, Meghan White countered 16 seconds later for NAX to bring them within two heading into the third. Edge would squeeze the life out of NAX in the third, outshooting them 21-4 and Sara Hettle scored midway through the period to clinch the 4-1 Edge victory. Alexis Ehrman (21/22) made 21 saves in net for the win.

Delta Hockey Academy White (2) vs Yale Hockey Academy (4) U15

Sebastien Sibley and Emmett Rumbold scored 24 seconds apart late in the first as Yale grabbed a 2-0 lead heading into the middle frame. Delta White would cut the deficit in half just 1:46 into the second as Easton Medved scored a power play goal, his first of the campaign. Yale would restore their two goal cushion late in the second as Daniel Valchev (2G) buried his first of the season. Delta White wouldn’t go away quietly as Seven Xie’s second goal of the season brought his team back within one. But like he did in the second, Valchev countered late in the period to secure the Yale win in a 4-2 game. Landon Rivas (36/38) and Logan Wagner (39/43) were in net for their respective teams.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (8) vs St. George’s School (1) U15

Kristian Bowen (2G, 1A) and Cruz Rasmussen each scored their second goals of the season less than 10 minutes into the game as OHA grabbed a quick 2-0 lead. Alan Qiu cut into the lead 5:33 into the second but Kane Fitzgerald countered for OHA 52 seconds later as part of six unanswered goals for the visitors. Bowen and Mack Host would tally power play goals less than two minutes apart and Lance Bryant (1G, 1A) added his first of the season to give OHA a 6-1 lead after 40. Defenseman Lukas Pandachuck (1G, 3A) and Reece Verrier (1G, 1A) added third period goals to round out the scoring for OHA in the 8-2 win. Linden Hartford (25/26) earned the win while David Itin (48/56) faced 56 shots in the loss.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (6) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) U17

OHA came out firing on all cylinders, potting three goals in the first with Riley Hansen (1G, 1A) and Nathan Marques (2G, 2A) scoring power play goals and Dreyden Rayburn adding an even strength marker. After giving up two power play goals in the first, the RHA Kelowna penalty kill struck in the second as Jordan Anastasiadis (2G) scored shorthanded to get his team on the board. Cole Schellenberg would quickly counter for OHA just 12 seconds later to restore the three goal lead. Anastasiadis would add his second of the game 2:09 later as RHA Kelowna trailed 4-2 heading into the final period. OHA put the game to rest in the third as Maxwell Stevens (1G, 1A) added another power play goal and Marques scored his fifth of the season to give their team a 6-2 win. Hudson Swankhuizen (33/35) made 33 saves to earn the win.
