Balmoral Hall School (2) vs Edge School (3/SO) Female U18 Prep
Minnesota State University, Mankato commit Lila Deis opened the scoring for the home side with 1:34 left in the opening period. Edan Crowe doubled the lead 1:17 into the second as she beat Sasha Coutu (45/47) for her second of the season. Balmoral would get on the board midway through the frame as Kate Chuback scored her 13th goal of the season. Brannagh Rae (1G, 1A) would tie the game 7:07 into the third, scoring a power play goal on Alexis Ehrman (45/47). The two teams would head to overtime and eventually a shootout where seven rounds would be needed to decide a victor, as Crowe was the hero for Edge School in their 3-2 win.
Notre Dame Hounds (3) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep
CIHA outshot Notre Dame 20-3 in the first period and grabbed a 1-0 lead 4:10 in as Aedan McCarry scored his sixth of the season. Khalen Menger tied the game 3:18 into the second as he beat Braxton Gibson (21/24) for his third goal of the year. CIHA regained the lead midway through the period as Chad Clark scored on the power play and Cohenn Rotar’s (1G, 1A) fifth of the season doubled the lead 3:18 later. Mason Miller brought Notre Dame within one just 32 seconds into the third with his first of the season. Walker Filewich (1G, 1A) doubled the lead midway through the period, firing the eventual game winner past Joshua Heitman. Notre Dame refused to go away quietly as a Lewis Brown (1G, 1A) power play marker with 4:46 remaining brough the Hounds within one. Ultimately, Gibson would hold off Notre Dame in the third to clinch the CIHA win.
Prairie Hockey Academy (6) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (1) U17 Prep
Owen Sinclair would open the scoring for ISA as he beat Luke Ratzlaff (20/21) 5:33 into the lone game Wednesday. However, Prairie would rattle off six unanswered to claim the win in a battle of two Saskatchewan teams. It was the Prairie power play that did the initial damage as Luke Pratte (2G, 1A) tied the game, and Kohen Peers (1G, 2A) scored the eventual game winner with 23 seconds left in the first. Owen Grassick scored the lone second period goal to double lead heading into the third. Bryden Wagner would increase the lead early in the third before Pratte and Kashton Smith beat Grayson Girling (43/49) in the final minutes to round out the scoring.
Mount Academy (4) vs CIH Academy (6) East U17 Prep
Cache Smith (3G) scored twice in the opening 15 minutes of play as Mount Academy grabbed a 2-0 lead. Daniel Fuchs (3G, 2A) responded for CIH Academy 1:12 later but Braiden Rossiter quickly countered for Mount to restore the two-goal cushion heading into the second. Smith would complete the hat-trick 8:01 into the middle frame as Mount appeared destined to pull away and earn their second win of the season. However, the tide began to turn as Toby Kindred (1G, 2A) and Greyson Peel (1G, 1A) brought CIH Academy within one heading into the third. Fuchs would tie the game just 22 seconds into the third, firing his second of the game past Gabriel Gagnon (26/32). CIH Academy would take their first lead of the game midway through the third as Simon Binks scored his first goal of the season. Fuchs would secure the CIH Academy comeback victory as he completed the hat-trick with 25 seconds left. Shahrukh Levac (32/36) made 32 saves in net to earn the win.
South Alberta Hockey Academy (3) vs Balmoral Hall School (0) Female U18 Prep
Mika Yokota (35/35) recorded her third straight shutout as SAHA defeated Balmoral 3-0 on Thursday. Maria Facca (1G, 1A) scored the eventual game winner, beating Mimi Ferreira (59/62) midway through the first period. Kapri Coston doubled the lead 4:05 into the second as she scored her first goal of the season. Teylor Crocker (1G, 1A) rounded out the scoring with a power play goal 36 seconds into the final period of play.
Ontario Hockey Academy (5) vs Bourget College (4) East U18 Prep
Bourget got goals from Antoine Grenier and Grayden Bath 1:43 apart midway through the first to grab a 2-0 lead heading into the intermission. Maddx Thinel added his third 6:20 into the second as Bourget held a 3-0 advantage despite being outshot up to that point. OHA would finally breakthrough 12:49 into the second as defenseman Malinoa Meiler scored his first of the year. Philip-Antoine Gemme would bring OHA within one 1:10 later and Nathaniel Noah tied the game 49 seconds after that. Oliver Anderton (1G, 1A) gave OHA their first lead of the game 2:12 into the third and that lead would hold until Maxemile Richard tied the game with 2:21 remaining. However, no OT would be needed as Owen Kelly’s (1G, 1A) fourth of the season with 48 seconds left gave OHA the 5-4 win after falling behind 3-0. Nicolas Arcilla (20/24) made 20 saves in a game in which OHA outshot Bourget 41-24.
RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (5/OT) U17 Prep
RHA Winnipeg led 1-0 after 20 as Zac Howell (1G, 1A) scored his second goal of the season 4:37 into the game. Kane Devloo doubled the lead just 59 seconds into the second period before back-to-back goals from Maddon L’Hommecourt (1G, 1A) and Tyson Bird (1G, 1A) evened the score midway through the second. RHA Winnipeg would still hold the lead going into the final 20 as Brady Filmon recorded his first goal of the season. Ryder Fiddler replied for ISA 24 seconds into the third to even the score, but Colton Ross hit double digit goals 44 seconds later restore the RHA Winnipeg lead. The home side would mount a comeback as Seth Baptiste (1G, 1A) tied the game with 9:50 left to send the game to overtime. In the extra frame, Xavior Iron (1G, 1A) scored his first of the year to give ISA the 5-4 win. Holden Fauchon (46/50) and Miller Fettes (31/36) were in net for their respective teams.
Edge School (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) Female U18 Prep
Sydney Stibbard’s (2G) 12th goal of the season just 2:12 into the game gave the home side an early 1-0 lead. Sara Hettle and Ava Hrubeniuk (1G, 1A) traded goals late in the period as the two teams remained seperated by a single goal heading into the second. The second belonged to RHA Winnipeg as Stibbard and Hrubeniuk each scored their second of the game and Georgia O’Neill (1G, 1A) hit double digit goals to increase the lead to 5-1. Mars McHenry (37/38) and Jenna Ring (28/33) kept clean sheets in the third as the period ended with the same score line as it started.
