GAME DAY RECAP: January 10, 2026

Prairie Hockey Academy (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (6) U15

The U15 contingent of the Northern Alberta Xtreme posted a whopping 17 goals yesterday, adding to a 6-1 win on Wednesday, and would only continue their offensive steamrolling of their opposition against Prairie on Saturday. Maguire Lepp scored early for Prairie, but from there, NAX exploded far in front of PHA. Kendon Peacock scored twice and two more points apiece from Yukon Kim (1G, 1A) and Mason Zimmer (1G, 1A) led NAX to a 6-2 win, now having won each of their first three games of 2026 by now a combined score of 29-3.

Okanagan Hockey Ontario (7) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (6) U17

Okanagan Hockey Ontario’s westbound foray saw them squeak out a 1-0 win over STAR Hockey Academy yesterday in Delta. Saturday against Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy was a similar game in the “closeness” aspect but different in nearly every other way. Cohen Hoyles (2G, 2A) scored 90 seconds into the hockey game to officially mark the same total goals that their previous game had in its entirety, but as mentioned, this game unfolded very differently. OHO doubled their lead, but the seesaw of momentum then flipped, and two goals from Blake Celski (3G, 1A) aided a turnaround that saw CDA take a 4-2 lead. The four straight goals from the Idaho-based squad weren’t sufficient in maintaining the lead, though, as they suffered the damage they’d inflicted on OHO. Okanagan Hockey Ontario turned around and scored four straight goals of their own, capped by a pair from Thomas Garland. At that point, OHO led by two, and while CDA’s comeback efforts pulled them back within one, Jack Carter’s shorthanded goal served as the dagger for OHO. A goal back from CDA at the end made for an exciting finish, but OHO held on for a 7-6 win.

Stanstead College (5) vs Bishop’s College School (3) East U17 Prep

Bishop’s College School came into this weekend with an undefeated record in the Eastern U17 Prep division this season, but in their way was a strong Stanstead squad, and crucially, there was Orlando, Florida native Jack Adams. Adams scored a shorthanded goal early to give Stanstead the 1-0 lead, one that would turn into a 2-1 advantage through twenty-minutes. The game saw three goals in less than one minute early in the second period, with BCS scoring twice in 17 seconds to tie the game and steal the lead, but another 34 seconds after Bishop’s took the lead, Adams scored his second goal to tie the game at three. Joshua Seeback popped up with a powerplay goal to reestablished Stanstead’s lead. Adams scored in the third period to complete his hat-trick, a crucial performance in his team’s eventual 5-3 win.

Delta Hockey Academy (3) vs Notre Dame Hounds (4/OT) U17

The Notre Dame Hounds had some shattered hearts following a 3-2 loss at RHA Kelowna’s hands, with an all-out push at the end of the third unsuccessful in finding an equalizer. Delta had won already twice in 2026, successful in both of their precious two games, but fell behind on Saturday., Dominik Chartrand (1G, 1A) gave Notre Dame a lead just 17 seconds into the game, a lead they’d build upon to hold a 3-1 advantage in the second period. However, in the span of 80 seconds, Delta erased the Notre Dame lead. Peyton May (1G, 1A) and Adam Piliotis scored in quick succession to pull Delta back to level terms, where it would stay until overtime. An interference penalty from Delta early in OT presented Notre Dame with a golden opportunity to win the game. Peter Frobes’ patience opened up a cross-ice passing lane with the pass right in the wheelhouse of Paul Abrametz (1G, 2A) who finished the feed to win it for the Hounds.

Notre Dame Hounds (2) vs OHA Edmonton (19) U15

The box score told the full story in this one as OHA Edmonton led 8-1 through one and would barely break that pace following the first intermission. OHAE grabbed a pair of hat-tricks from Kole Imlay (3G) and Kirk Girard (5G, 3A) with the latter one of two players to hit eight points, the other being Marek Fetter (2G, 6A). Through three periods, OHE Edmonton had scored 19, capping off a massive victory that saw their skaters combine for 50 points.

Notre Dame Hounds (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (9) U15 Prep

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg’s U15 Prep squad had a difficult December, losing all three of their games in tightly fought contests against very capable opposition. They’d lost their last overall heading into Saturday, but RHAW responded in a completely dominant fashion against Notre Dame. The 1-1 tie through twenty minutes was the end of the game being a contest, with RHAW exploding for five second-period goals, led by four points apiece from Nash Dolyny (2G, 2A) and David Ring (1G, 3A) three more in the third capped off RHAW’s emphatic 9-1 win.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (0) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (12) U15 Prep

The Northern Alberta Xtreme’s U15 Prep squad followed up a 15-1 win over Pilot Mound Hockey Academy at the start of December with a pair of losses against Calgary International Hockey Academy. An 8-2 win over the South Alberta Hockey Academy was only a precursor to the second back-to-back matchup between the two squads, and on Saturday, NAX’s offence went even further than the night before. Jared Ryan led the way with a hat-trick in a 12-0 NAX victory.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (7) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg lost a thriller on Friday night in a 7-6 overtime contest against Edge School, looking to improve on Saturday against the Calgary International Hockey Academy. The 13-goal thriller of Friday was replicated by RHAW on Saturday. The two teams remained locked at 1-1 through one before 4-4 through two periods of play. An electric start to the third saw the lead swing from RHAW, to CIHA, and back again. CIHA led 6-5 near the end of the third, but RHAW would turn things around to avenge Friday’s loss. Drayden Champagne (1G, 1A) scored with under three and a half minutes to go, giving RHAW a late 7-6 lead and ultimately held on for a thrilling win. Colton Ross scored a hat-trick with a goal in each period to help his RINK Winnipeg squad to the win.

BWC Academy (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3) U18 Prep

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna survived with a 3-2 overtime win over Delta Hockey Academy last game, but on Saturday, victory looked like a long shot early in the first period. A pair of BWC goals from Kadyn O’Brien put BWC in front, giving RHA Kelowna a real test after never having trailed in Friday’s clash with Delta. However, slowly but surely, RHAK made up the deficit. Nate Macphee scored late in the first to cut the lead in half and Reid Rabinovitch tied the game at two through two periods of play. With the game square going into the last twenty minutes, Jack Brown threw a sharp-angle shot on goal early in the third, surprising the goaltender and sliding the go-ahead goal home. Brown’s goal stood as the game-winner, completing RHAK’s comeback win.

Stanstead College (7) vs Bishop’s College School (5) East U18 Prep

Stanstead College’s U18 Prep team had been near-perfect on the season heading into Saturday, but Bishop’s College School looked like a threat to the squad in both the Saturday and Sunday matchups between Stanstead and BCS. Stanstead exploded into a 4-0 lead by the halfway point of the hockey game, but Bishop’s didn’t go away, with their pushback yielding three goals to pull BCS back within one. That was as close as Bishop’s would get, though, with two quick Stanstead powerplay goals in response to BCS’ attempts at a comeback. Emanuel Ganz scored a hat-trick in Stanstead’s eventual 7-5 win.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (0) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (3) Female U18 Prep

The South Alberta Hockey Academy ran into a test that could have easily crippled their dominant performance. SAHA controlled the entirety of the game, but at every turn in the early stages of the game, NAX goaltender Hannah Pope (49/52) stopped the SAHA attack. Finally, late in the second, Maria Facca (1G, 1A) broke through to give SAHA the lead. Now in front, SAHA, who outshot their opponent 52-17 in the game, struck the knockout blow. Teylor Crocker scored on the powerplay with just under three quarters of the third period to play, her second goal in as many games to make it 2-0. SAHA saw it out from there, with goaltender Mika Yokota still making 17 saves for the shutout win.

Notre Dame Hounds (4) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep

The Notre Dame Hounds’ U18 Prep team haven’t had an awesome season. Their results and goal differential tell a story of a team struggling to compete, but Saturday night was a complete turnaround. The Hounds, previous to Saturday, last won on October 12. PMHA put up a fight, but after Notre Dame took a lead in the first period through a Thomas Beaton goal, PMHA couldn’t find themselves a lead from there on out. Bende Szongoth (1G, 2A) scored on the powerplay in the third period to give Notre Dame a 3-2 lead, one that would be added to later in the period to secure Notre Dame a 4-2 win. Massive credit should be given to Quinn Badeau in the Hounds’ crease who made 36 saves on 38 shots for the win.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (11) U17

Prairie Hockey Academy’s Kase Gellner (3G, 2A) did all the damage he needed to do in the first period alone, notching a hat-trick in the first 18:23 alone. His team would continue scoring even after leading 6-0 through one period, with Soren Hayden (1G, 5A) leading the way with six points. The eventual 11-2 win for Prairie now gives PHA five straight wins, with their last loss now all the way back on December 12, besting the Northern Alberta Xtreme, OHA Edmonton, BWC Academy, Okanagan Hockey Academy, and finally RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna on their red-hot streak.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (6) vs Yale Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep

Yale Hockey Academy earned a 6–2 win over Pacific Coast Hockey Academy on Saturday, snapping a three-game skid by leaning on special teams and a dominant performance from Matteo Zenone (4G). After Yale jumped out to a 2–0 first-period lead on goals from Zenone (1G) and Daniel Havard (1G, 4A), PCHA responded with a pair from Dane Dyer (2G) to briefly pull even early in the second. Yale regained control late in the middle frame with goals from Zenone and Brady Elbert (1G), then put the game away in the third as Zenone added two power-play goals to complete his four-goal night. Daniel Havard (1G, 4A) and Jackson Beggs (3A) were key playmakers throughout, while Yale capitalized on 2-of-5 power-play opportunities. In goal, Lucca Tassone stopped 35 of 37 shots to secure the win.

North Shore Warriors (5) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep

After Wenatchee opened the scoring just 11 seconds in, North Shore responded quickly and never looked back, outshooting Wenatchee 52–23 and holding the Wild to just five shots combined in the second and third periods. Cole Gann (3G) led the way with a natural hat trick, including a shorthanded goal in the first period and two even-strength tallies in the third, while Laine Kauffman (1G) and Nehemiah Plunkett (1G) rounded out the scoring. Edge pushed back in the third with tallies from Reed Reschny (1G) and Finn Howes (1G, 1A), but SAHA answered with a power-play goal from Carson Ward (1G) before Grady McLeod (1G) sealed the win with an empty-net marker late. Despite being outshot 40–25, Hunter Zawislak was excellent in net for SAHA, stopping 37 of 40 shots. SAHA finished 2-for-3 on the power play, a key difference in the matchup.

Defensively, Kuper was airtight, allowing just 11 shots over the final two periods, and Matteo Valluzzi was perfect in goal, stopping 26 of 26 shots to earn the shutout. On the other side, William Laplante faced heavy traffic all night, making 57 saves on 61 shots to keep the score respectable. Despite several penalty opportunities for Ontario, Kuper dictated the pace, reinforcing their status as one of the top teams in the division.
