East Division – Emmitt Uppal, Ontario Hockey Academy
“Emmitt is an impressive student-athlete, with a perfect 4.0 GPA and leadership qualities. He is spoken of highly by his teachers and coaches alike, and due to his maturity he could easily be mistaken for a senior. Emmitt is a great role model for the other players.”
West Female Division – Addison Scoville, Pilot Mound Hockey Academy
“Addison exemplifies hard work, leadership, dedication, and commitment in all areas of her life, making her an outstanding candidate for this recognition.
Addison’s academic achievements are remarkable. She consistently maintains high grades, excelling in challenging subjects while balancing the demands of her athletic commitments. Her dedication to her studies is evident through her participation in various school events, where she demonstrates both intellectual curiosity and a strong work ethic.
In the community, Addison is a role model and a pillar of support. She actively volunteers her time, participating in local hockey programs and community service projects. Her efforts in organizing our charity events and mentoring younger athletes highlight her commitment to making a positive impact beyond the rink.
In the dressing room, Addison’s leadership qualities shine brightly. She fosters a sense of camaraderie and teamwork, always encouraging her teammates and leading by example. Her positive attitude and willingness to help others create a supportive and inclusive environment for all.”
West Male U18 Division – Preston Kelly-Paquet, RHA Kelowna
“Preston has been with RINK Kelowna since 2021. ‘PKP’ is the perfect example of an exceptional student-athlete in the CSSHL. His dedication off the ice is something that shows maturity that you do not see everyday in young athletes.
He truly understands the importance of education and the effort that goes into being successful in the classroom. He currently has a grade average of 96%. Whether it is classroom time at the academy or on the road, PKP is always leading the charge with a massive smile and tons of energy.
Preston’s attitude to improve every single day on the ice and in the classroom, is what every CSSHL student-athlete should thrive for. He is getting the most out of everyday.”
West Male U15 Division – Oliver Boniface, Pacific Coast Hockey Academy
“Oliver is an exceptional, hardworking grade 9 student who plays for the PCHA U15 Prep team. He seeks out extra work, is quick to offer his peers a helping hand, has never missed a homework assignment, and is extremely organized. Oliver’s content knowledge, depth of understanding, and quality of work is at a solid extending level. He is an asset to both the classroom and the district.
Oliver was recently selected as a representative our school, QELEṈSEN Á, LEṈ Secondary, at the Trustees/ Student Forum for our district where he shared his insights and recommendations with District Trustees and Senior Administration.
Outside of school, Oliver volunteers at both the Goldstream and Sooke Food Banks, volunteers to work timekeeping at local hockey games and volunteers for local minor hockey associations.
On the ice, Oliver is very dedicated, a hard worker and supports his teammates. He has a good work ethic both on and off the ice.”
