Edge School (2) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (3/SO) U15
A goal from Benjamin Vialaneix 1:25 in gave CIHA an early 1-0 lead over their Calgary rivals. Edge would take a 2-1 lead into the second as Nixon Reid-Dinning and Satoshi Takeda each found the back of the net on Mason Filipchuk (29/31). Ryder Davis would tie the game late in the second as he scored a power play marker, his seventh goal of the season. Filipchuk and Carter Gideon (21/23) kept clean sheets through the third and five minutes of overtime to force a shootout. In the shootout, Filipchuk denied all three Edge shooters while Lucas Beaudin scored in the first round to give CIHA the 3-2 win.
RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) vs Balmoral Hall School (1) Female U18 Prep
Rowyn Street’s (2G, 1A) 18th goal of the season opened the scoring as RHA Winnipeg held a 1-0 advantage after 20. Piper Holbrook doubled the lead midway through the second with a power play marker before Street scored her second of the game four minutes later. Mya Rosenbaum would get Balmoral on the board 1:07 later, beating Mars McHenry (28/29) for her ninth of the season. RHA Winnipeg shut down any comeback attempt in the third as Ava Hrubeniuk (1G, 1A) found the back of the net for the 17th time this season late in the game. Mimi Ferreira (28/32) was charged with the loss.
Stanstead College (3) vs Lower Canada College (0) East U17 Prep
Jacob Maddox (23/23) made 23 saves for his second shutout and seventh win of the season as Stanstead defeated LCC 3-0. Maddox and Alessandro Sforza (47/49) kept clean sheets in the opening 20 as the two teams were tied 0-0 heading into the break. Nicholas Alicea broke the deadlock with a power play goal midway through the second period. Defenseman Caleb Ivers doubled the lead early in the third with his first goal of the campaign. Still within striking distance, LCC pulled their netminder late to try and get on the board, but an empty net goal from Joshua Seeback secured the Stanstead win.
Notre Dame Hounds (0) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (7) U18 Prep
With 28 saves Remy Martins (28/28) picked up his second shutout of the season in a 7-0 win over Notre Dame. Tristan Hoko (3G) scored the eventual game winner 3:28 into the first, the lone goal of the period. Seamus Dillon (1G, 1A) and Jaxon Nicol (1G, 1A) each scored once in the second, while two goals that period from Hoko gave him the hat-trick with 30 minutes left to play. Sam Degenstein and Lincoln Eaves added third period markers to round out the scoring in the lopsided victory. Quinn Badeau (52/59) faced 59 shots in net for Notre Dame.
Mount Academy (1) vs Selwyn House School (9) East U17 Prep
Back-to-back power play goals by Michael Paliotti (2G) gave Selwyn an early 2-0 lead and they never looked back as they earned a lopsided 9-1 win over Mount. Selwyn would score one more in the first, three in the second and three in the third, with Jake Holman (2G, 2A) leading the way with four points. Cache Smith scored the lone Mount goal, doing so while on the penalty kill midway through the third. Evan Un Yi (12/13) and Connor Alward (47/56) were in net for their respective teams.
King’s-Edgehill School (3) vs Bourget College (9) East U18 Prep
Malik Roy (2G, 1A), Elie Robert (3G) and Carter Verdone (1G, 1A) all scored in a span of 2:06 as Bourget grabbed a 3-0 lead just 5:02 into the game. Justin Boudreau extended the advantage 1:30 into the second before Alex Hannah (1G, 1A) got KES on the board five minutes later. Roy and Xavier Martin (1G, 1A) countered for Bourget in the second half of the period to extend the gap to five. Van Green-Lewis would break the run less than two minutes later but goals from Maddx Thinel and Robert in the final 1:37 saw Bourget hold an 8-2 lead heading into the third. Liam Boone scored the first goal of the third as KES looked to make the score line more respectable. Robert added his third of the game with less than five minutes left to round out the scoring in a 9-3 Bourget win. Jakob Cyr (26/29) made 26 saves for his first win of the season.
